История, длящаяся на протяжении многих серий первого сезона, повествует о великой царственной династии Куру, к которой принадлежат два враждующих семейных клана: Пандава и Куарава. Пандава - доблестные, светлые, честные и сильные люди с божественным и благородным началом, несущие добродетель в окружающий мир, в то время как второй род олицетворяет собой всемирное зло, алчность и жестокость, подлость, жадность, зависть и стремление нести всюду хаос и разрушения. Они борются за могущество и господство над царством, так как почти все представители имеют полноценное право на наследование престола. В конце концов, царем становится самый благоразумный и мудрейший юноша Юдшхиштхира (самый старший из рода Пандавов). После этого по инициативе пребывавших в ярости и гневе Куаравов разгорается масштабная и слепая битва за главную столицу индийского королевства - Хастинапур. Методы борьбы у двух родов самые разные, вызванные особенностью отношений и воспитания внутри родов, к тому же огромное и не всегда положительное влияние исходит со стороны, и тем самым еще больше усугубляется межклановая ненависть.

Красивый музыкальный фильм, который учит различать добро и зло и призывает переосмыслить свое поведение и мысли, переносит зрителя в мифическое волшебство c полубогами, принцессами, царицами и обилием золотых сокровищ.
